After my nap it was almost time for dinner so I went to get ready. As it was a pretty gloomy day today there was not much to do. I did get to hang out with some friends I have made whilst on the ship which was nice. So weird but I feel like I have known them for ages, I have been spending a lot of my down time hanging out with them and getting to know them so I guess it's only natural. It's so weird how you can bond with someone in such a short amount of time and become so attached in a matter of days. It'll definitely be a sad farewell once the time comes. Anyway after we had dinner at the waterfront, we went to go see the final production by the Pacific entertainment crew called Life As We Know It. It was a one show only performance by the pacific entertainers and pacific cirque and was the best show yet. It was kind of a somber performance at the end knowing that it was the last show.
They also had the grand final of pacific pop stars afterwards and I watched that as well. The singers were pretty good. They eventually awarded the prize to 2 winners, both very deserving of the win. Very entertaining and relatively good singers. After the show I went to go watch some of the footy as it was on and my beloved hawks were playing the swans, unfortunately we didn't get a win but it was still a good match. At about 10:30pm some of the cast of the pacific entertainers did a live show of raw music at Charlie's bar. This was a really good session as they could choose songs that they like and really showcase their talent. After this finished it was time to say a final goodbye to everyone. I said bye to everyone and wished everyone luck with the future, all the soppy goodbye stuff.
It was particularly hard to say goodbye to a certain individual (to respect his privacy lets call him Mr X) and as childish as it sounds I kind of tried to avoid him because I just didn't want to say goodbye. I haven't previously mentioned Mr X in my posts and was debating whether or not to include this in here but hanging out with him was a very big part of my experience and it just didn't seem right to leave it out. Initially it was kind of a romantic connection that we had but we realised this was most likely because we were in a confined environment. Our relationship was for the most part just a platonic one. We are much better as friends and I'm glad to have met him on this trip. It sounds weird but I feel like I have know him my entire life even though its just been a week. I did end up saying goodbye as difficult as it was, I tried to do it as quick as possible just like a band aid.
After I said goodbye I went back up to the cabin to try and get some sleep. Good thing about tonight was we get to put back the clock an hour so we get an extra hour sleep, gotta look on the bright side right? I woke up at about 6am, we needed to be at our meeting point at 7:10am to disembark the ship. I decided to go to the buffet to grab a bite to eat before we leave. Then to my surprise I saw Mr X in the buffet. I was shocked to see him there as he didn't need to be up that early but he had trouble sleeping so had come down for some food. We had breakfast together and once again said our goodbyes. The disembarkation process was a lot quicker than getting on the boat, it took us about 10 mins to complete the process which was great considering how long it took us to board the ship.
All in all I had an absolute blast on this trip. I saw some amazing sites, got to spend some quality time with my family and feel so blessed to have met such amazing people on this trip which I was not expecting at all. This trip just gets me that much more excited for my Europe trip. About a week until I leave!
Until next time sexy people,
Ray
